How to become a Twitch Partner

Partner is the tier above Affiliate. The important structural difference: Affiliate is automatic once you hit the numbers, while Partner is an application that Twitch reviews and can decline even if you qualify on paper.

The numbers

Twitch tracks a Path to Partner achievement in your Creator Dashboard. The headline requirement is an average of 75 concurrent viewers over a 30-day period, alongside streaming consistently across a minimum number of hours and unique days in that window.

Why qualifying isn't the same as being accepted

Hitting 75 average viewers makes you eligible to apply. Twitch also weighs:

• Content quality and consistency — a regular schedule matters.
• Community health — an engaged, well-moderated chat.
• Guideline compliance — a clean record on Community Guidelines, ToS, and DMCA. Music strikes genuinely hurt here, which is one more reason to read the music guide.
• Trajectory — a channel that's growing reads better than one that spiked once.

If you're declined, you can reapply. It isn't permanent, and plenty of Partners were turned down first time.

What Partner gets you

• A better revenue share than Affiliate on subscriptions, which is the main financial reason to want it.
• More emote slots — meaningful for community identity.
• Ad control — more say over when and how ads run.
• Priority support, and the verified checkmark.
• Transcoding priority — arguably the underrated one. Guaranteed quality options mean viewers on weak internet can actually watch you, which quietly costs small channels viewers they never knew they lost.

Is it still the goal it used to be?

Less than it was, for two reasons. First, Twitch's 2026 Monetization for All rollout gave every streamer subs, Bits, emotes and Channel Points, so the gap between tiers is narrower than it once was. Second, many creators now find that sponsorships and a multi-platform presence out-earn the improved revenue share — and neither requires Partner.

Partner remains a genuine mark of having built something real. Just don't organise years of your life around it: the thing that gets you there — 75 people who reliably show up — is worth vastly more than the badge at the end.
